Mission Flight United Inc.

Thank you for visiting us and welcome to MISSION FLIGHT UNITED

We have completed the wing rebuild. Let us share this project with you.

We conducted construction classes to re-construct the wings on a Sport Airplane and do Stits fabric covering to make the plane airworthy. We need to raise $3200.00 for this project and classes. All students that participated have gained design knowledge and experience as well as airtime in the plane when it was completed. We have posted pictures of our progress as it happened and are on the events and finished project pages.

Check on the events page for further details.

If you have tools or materials you would be willing to donate or have experience you would like to offer please let us know. We would love to have you join us.

UPDATE: We have received a cloths iron, soldering iron and a temperture reader,

the total cost is now at $3,200

This project is complete and we are raising funds to pay off the expenses for it.

We make our classes available when youth can attend such as weekends and school vacations.

Our classes are FREE to the students, but transportation and actual flight is not free for us as an organization. There are many costs involved and we can only cover these costs as money is received from donations, grants and sponsor-ships. We do not charge youth for anything. Our time is donated as well, we do not get paid. Any money received goes 100% to the aircraft operating costs and transportation costs associated with students air time, field trips and class room supplies. None of the money received is used for personal flights by us and our books are open for inspection.

If you would like to donate or sponsor a child please contact us through our contact page.

All donations are tax deductible and we can send you a receipt if you give us your information.

Let us introduce ourselves. My name is Dana Walker and I am class instructor and Treasurer, Brandon Jones is the current President and Joan Walker is our Secretary. We have a passion for flight and a desire to share it with others. Our primary objective is to get youth that are interested in aviation, either as a hobby or a career, to be able to experience the awesome thrill of flight. We also want them to understand the science and skills behind it. There are many good life application skills associated with the privilege of a pilot certificate and these skills can be useful in all areas of life. We aim to instill these in anyone that will allow us to tutor and mentor them. These skills will help prepare them for adulthood and the challenges they will face in the future.

We are conducting classes and invite anyone interested to attend. Our target group is youth, but, anyone is welcome.

We would like to give special thanks to East Point Assembly of God for allowing us to use their facilities to conduct classes there. They have given us permission to hold our classes in their gym. Our room is upstairs to the left. They also have given us permission to use the projection equipment and other tools that make our classes easier to teach. http://www.eastpointag.com/

Our flight simulator is projected onto a screen 5'x5' making the experience much more realistic.

Our mission statement

Mission Flight United will not be involved in any activities that are not permitted to be carried on by an organization exempt from Federal income tax under 501 ( c ) ( 3 ) of the Internal Revenue code. We will meet this requirement as a charity for at risk youth and as educational mentor ship using aviation material. We will work through local churches to supplement their youth outreach programs.

The activities of MFU shall be educational in nature with emphasis on aviation. Youth mentor-ship is our major concern to teach good life skills such as obeying the rules, weather prediction, safety, being aware of your surroundings, compass orienteering, over coming fear and the science of aviation. Students will earn the privilege of going in an aircraft and participating in the preparation of a cross country flight only after meeting certain levels of participation in the class room. We want to enable youth to experience a world they might not do on their own, but must work for it. MFU will be able to cover the costs of these activities only as we receive contributions.

Upon the dissolution of this organization assets shall be donated to local church youth organizations and or missionaries through the Assembly of God church
